Global warming is a reality. We keep track of the consequences caused by the increase of the global average temperature on daily basis: heat waves in Europe, cyclones in Brazil, thawing of the ice caps, desertification in different places of the planet, typhoon worsening, hurricanes, storms and floods.
The amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere has increased in the past years, mainly because of the energetic model based on fossil fuel. This is not the only paradigm of the issue. It is mandatory to take into consideration factors related to our day-by-day life. Global warming: the citizens’ challenge of the XXI century, like consume patterns, population growth, rational use of natural resources, forests preservation and the way the traffic is organized.
There is no other future rather than the sustaining future. And Ecolatina is definitely the event where national and international authorities, experts, business managers and investor gather to debate strategies for sustainability, new models of businesses and the challenges derived from the restrictions concerning the emission of greenhouse gas, the access to water and the natural resources by all societies.
